Life Safety: Hostile Intruders
The Fire Safety Director, upon notification that a hostile intruder is in the building, shall take the following actions:
- Protect yourself first.
- Call 911 ASAP and report the situation.
- If safe to do so, continue to gather information about the incident and report it to either 9-1-1 or arriving first responders.
- Verbally warn occupants in the immediate area if they are in danger.
- Do NOT make announcements via the one-way communication system that may draw people out into the open where they could be injured.
- Upon the arrival of the police department, provide them with the Pre-Fire and Emergency Plan.
